All eyes may be on the Premier League but there’s an awful lot to be excited about in the lower tiers of English football
. Excellent young players are emerging from all corners of the globe to energise the leagues.
Young men like Kenya national team member Josh Lelan and compatriot Jonah Ayunga are transferring their skills to the National League. A little further up the ladder, there’s a constant stream of youngsters who are plying their trade for English Football League clubs like Charlton Athletic, Birmingham City and Reading.
These are the young guns who are effectively the bloodstock of the Premier League in the not too distant future. They are the rising stars who will someday fill the boots of Eden Hazard, Paul Pogba and Mohammed Salah.
Let’s take a look at three FL players who’ve been tipped for the big time. Men with the technical skills, athleticism and hunger to replace the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Sergio Aguero and Virgil Van Dyke:
Joe Aribo is the full package. He’s quick, powerful and athletic. He’s also a calm head in the heat of battle. When he’s given the space to attack, he does so with creativity and poise.
The 22-year-old midfielder for Charlton Athletic showed flashes of brilliance throughout the League One season. He scored 10 goals and was key to five assists. As Aribo’s confidence and stature grows, he’s the kind of player who will become more and more influential in swaying the results of the game.
The tall left-footer has excellent technical skills, competes well in the air and has both the speed and stamina to compete in the top flight. The multifaceted young player from South London has got tongues wagging and rumours are that clubs like Arsenal, Eintracht, Benfica and Tottenham Hotspurs are all keen to get him onboard.
Che Adams is in the form of his life. The young super talented forward for Birmingham City boasts a 22-goal haul, a feat that’s earned him a nomination for the EFL Player of the Year award in 2018-19.
Apart from being lethal in front of the goal, the Leicester-born player is renowned for his physicality both in and out of the box. He has an abundance of pace, strength and stamina which, together with the kind of raw ability that has seen him likened to the great Cristiano Ronaldo, are the perfect ingredients for the Premier League.

Chele, as he’s known by his legion of fans, is the poster boy for Birmingham City but the club will have to get used to life without him as the sharp-shooter is on his way to the top flight.
According to recent newspaper reports there’s an all-out war going on between several Premier League clubs that are vying for Adams’ attention. Spurs, Everton, Arsenal and Manchester United are all tipping their hats at a young player who cut his teeth at an early age at the Ilkeston Academy.
At 18 years of age Danny Loader is already a World Cup winner. The precociously talented Reading striker was a key figure in England’s successful run in the Under-17 World Cup. Now the youngster is on radar of Bundesliga clubs like Hertha Berlin, Borussia Monchengladbach and Wolfsburg.
Loader opened his account for the senior Reading side in spectacular fashion. He scored a screamer against Middlesbrough to cement his reputation as a future star. With oodles of talent and age on his side the young forward for the Royals is a shoo-in for any of the top leagues in Europe.
