NBA Regular Season

Tip-off at 02:00 CAT

The San Antonio Spurs will look to claim the scalp of the Philadelphia 76ers when they meet in an NBA Regular Season game at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas on the morning of Monday 3 May 2021. Tip-off is at 02:00 CAT.

The Spurs are fighting hard to get themselves into the playoffs, having endured a season where wins and losses have pretty much kept level with each other. San Antonio claimed a key victory this past weekend when they trumped the New Orleans Pelicans 110-108.

Coach Gregg Popovich marveled at the stamina of DeMar DeRozan, who scored 32 points in the game despite playing with a quad injury. "He seems to never get tired, and he's always ready to go," Popovich said. "He wants the ball, he wants to score, but he'll get it to his teammates if that's appropriate. He loves being in that situation. He's the best on our team with that."

"There was no doubt I was going to play," DeRozan added. "It's really sore, but I've played with worse. It feels fine. I'm glad I didn't get hit on it again."

The 76ers, meanwhile, have consistently been one of the strongest forces in the Eastern Conference. However, they were given an emphatic basketball lesson by the Milwaukee Bucks this past weekend, suffering a blowout 132-94 loss.

"I'm not concerned about our overall health," 76ers coach Doc Rivers said. "I'm just concerned about the amount of games we're missing." Rivers added that "we've got to get rhythm with all of our guys playing” - something not helped by the absence of Joel Embiid, though the Cameroonian player is not expected to be sidelined for long.

In head-to-head stats, the Spurs and 76ers have met in 98 Regular Season games since 1976-77, with San Antonio claiming 58 wins compared to 40 for Philadelphia. The teams last met in the Regular Season in March 2021, with the 76ers winning 134-99 at home thanks to 23 points from Tobias Harris.
