2020-21 Serie A
Matchday 8
21-22 November 2020
Roma will chase another win in Italy's top flight when they welcome Parma to Stadio Olimpico in the capital on Sunday 22 November 2020, kick-off at 17:00. The match is one of 10 spread over 21-22 November as part of Matchday 8 in the 2020-21 Serie A season.
Roma racked up a second successive league win (and third across all competitions) when they defeated Genoa 3-1 away on November 8, with a hat-trick from Henrikh Mkitaryan.

“We showed great personality and we deserved to win. We had four or five clear chances to score and we were always focused at the backm" said Roma manager Paulo Fonseca. “Even when an important player [Edin Dzeko] is missing we don’t change our style, that’s very important. We conceded one goal but we scored three and we could have done more. After Genoa’s goal we had a great reaction, we scored two goals and it’s important to feel this ambition.”
Parma come into the clash on the back of a 0-0 draw at home to Fiorentina, extending their winless run in Serie A to four matches.
“Once we get a few positive results to build up that self-esteem, hopefully we can try something different. At this moment, results are the priority,” said manager Fabio Liverani. “What reassures me is that everyone here can be a regular starter and that is good to know. In four to six weeks, I will be glad to have problems choosing the line-up, as so many will be in good shape and deserve to play. The club knew the situation and gave me time to get this team working, so we’re still on track.”

In head-to-head stats, Roma and Parma have met in 49 matches across all competitions since 1993. The Giallorossi have claimed 32 wins compared to seven for I Crociate, while 10 games have been drawn.
Parma claimed a 2-0 win in Emilia Romagna in the teams' first Serie A meeting last season, but Roma secured revenge with a 2-1 triumph in the return game in the 'Eternal City' in July 2020, thanks to goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Jordan Veretout.
