Roger Federer continues chase for ninth Wimbledon crown

2019 Wimbledon Championships

Women’s and Men’s Singles finals

Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July

Roger Federer continues his chase for a ninth Wimbledon Championships title, as he bids for a place in the final on Sunday 14 July.

The Swiss master has thus far seen off the challenges of Lloyd Harris, Jay Clarke, Lucas Pouille, Matteo Berrettini and Kei Nishikori to advance into the final four.

Federer has won eight Wimbledon titles.

His next opponent will be old foe Rafael Nadal, who has defeated Yuichi Sugita, Nick Kyrgios, Joe-Wilfried Tsonga, Joao Sousa and Sam Querry.

The Spaniard is in prime form and chasing a second Grand Slam of the year, after yet another triumph at the French Open at Roland Garros last month.

Federer will face Rafael Nada in the semifinals.

Nadal has won 24 of the 39 matches in which he has faced Federer, including a straight-sets victory in the semifinals in Paris in June.

The winner will face either Novak Djokovic or Roberto Bautista Agut in the final at Centre Court on Sunday.
