The Red Devils got their 2020/21 season off to a disappointing start with Crystal Palace claiming a surprise 3-1 win over United at Old Trafford this past weekend.

Donny van de Beek scored on debut for United in the only positive on the day in what was another shaky defensive display. Club captain Harry Maguire and centre-back partner Victor Lindelöf were at the middle of criticism directed at the club in the aftermath but head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjær remains optimistic about what is to come from his team this season.

For the fans

"We need four or five games to get up to the standard we know we’re capable of," Solskjær said.

"We haven’t had an opportunity to get those games in and we have to make sure, in these games, we get the minutes and make the players ready to start competing in the league again. Brighton away is going to be a very tough,"

The Seagulls bounced back from an opening weekend defeat to Chelsea with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Newcastle United on the back of a Neal Maupay brace.

United won the corresponding fixture 3-0 last season thanks to a double from Bruno Fernandes and will be eyeing a fourth straight win over Brighton this weekend.
