2019/20 Premier League
Round 26, part II
14-17 February 2020
Norwich City will be the latest to face the Liverpool juggernaut when the teams meet at Carrow Road on Saturday 15 February 2020, kick-off at 20:30. The match is one of six spread from 14 to 17 February to complete the 26
th round of the
2019/20 Premier League season.
Norwich come into the clash on the back of a 0-0 draw away to Newcastle United on February 1, a result which left them marooned at the bottom of the log with 18 points. If the Canaries are to have any chance of surviving, they need a major turnaround in their form, but manager Daniel Farke admits they are struggling to meet the demands of the Premier League.
“We can’t expect wins because we don’t bring in £10m or £20m players. If we did then we could be a bit more strict. We simply have to back our players, back our young lads and that is what we are trying to do. That is our way,” explained Farke.

Liverpool, meanwhile, were last in league action with a comfortable 4-0 win over Southampton. In between, their youth team defeated Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup, a match which the senior players and even manager Jurgen Klopp took off to gain much-needed rest.
“We’re just over halfway through the season so it’s important for us to keep our heads, keep focused and keep our mentality the same. That’s what’s been working for us, so nothing should change,” said right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.
In head-to-head stats, Norwich and Liverpool have met in 65 previous matches. The Reds have claimed 36 wins compared to 14 for the Canaries, while 15 games have been drawn.
When the teams met in the Premier League earlier this season, at Anfield in August 2019, Liverpool claimed a 4-1 home win thanks to strikes from Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Divock Origi and an own goal from Grant Hanley. Teemu Pukki netted Norwich’s consolation.
