Manchester United were arguably the best team in the Premier League after the 2019/20 season resumed in June 2020.
The campaign had been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side came out with guns blazing when the season resumed.
On 9 July 2020, United's world-class central midfielder Paul Pogba netted his first goal of the season in a 3-0 win at Aston Villa.
The emphatic victory made the Red Devils the first team in Premier League history to win four consecutive games by three goals or more.
And the first to do so in the top flight since their rivals Liverpool FC in October 1987 and the Reds went on to clinch the 1987/88 league title.

United played nine league matches after the restart and they registered three draws and six victories including a four-match winning run.
Prior to the suspension of the season, United had signed Portugal international Bruno Fernandes from Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon on 29 January 2020.
The 25-year-old playmaker hit the ground running at United as he recorded the most goal involvements in first 10 Premier League matches.
Fernandes registered his 13th goal involvement in his 10th match, the joint-highest total for goals and assists in a player’s first 10 appearances.
In June 2020, the creative player won multiple club and Premier League awards, including Premier League Player of the Month and Goal of the Month.

As a result, Fernandes became the first player to win both awards concurrently in Premier League history.
The former Udinese player also became the first United player to win back to back Premier League Player of the Month awards since the 2006/07 season.

His compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo had been the last player to win back to back Premier League Player of the Month awards.
Lastly, Fernandes impressively netted eight goals and assisted seven times in 14 games in his Premier League debut season with United.
Solskjaer praised United's scouting team for spotting Fernandes, who played an instrumental role in helping the team finish third in the Premier League.
“I believe that, of course, I need to go and watch him myself. I’ve always known [his ability], as I’ve seen him on the telly and that stuff," Solskjaer said.
"When I went to see him live he was exceptional in his enthusiasm; the way he wanted to win, that winning mentality. That was fantastic when I saw him, but I have to go back to all the chief scouts."
“The scouting network has been really good, so it’s not like I can just pick someone and, if five of them say no, then I’ll force things through. It’s a team effort there as well. Of course, Bruno has come in and been fantastic for us."
