Liverpool FC will face off with Sheffield United in an English Premier League match at the Anfield Stadium on January 2.

This will be the eighth league meeting between the two teams in the English Premier League era.
Liverpool have the upper hand having won three matches compared to United's two victories, while two games ended in a draw.
The Reds also won the last meeting between the two teams on the 28th of September 2019.
They secured a 1-0 victory over United in a match which was played at Bramall Lane.
Takumi Minamino, the new Liverpool midfielder, is looking forward to playing in the Premier League as he set to conclude his move from Austria's RB Salzburg on January 1.
"To play in the Premier League was one of my targets. I think this is the top-class league in the world," Minamino said.

"I was thinking if my career as a footballer progressed smoothly, someday I would be able to play in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are keen to mount a serious challenge for the league title and win it for the 19th time.
Sadio Mane, who has arguably been Liverpool's best player this year, will be looking to inspire the Reds to a win over United.
While United are keen to retain their status in the English Premier League after making their return in August 2019.
They will look to Lys Mousset, who has been impressive in front of goal this season and he will be keen to help United stun Liverpool.
