The Foxes have put together a five-game unbeaten run in the league and will move top of the standings with victory over the Blues.

"It was always going to be a really hard-fought game," Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers said following his side's 2-0 win over Southampton on Saturday. "Southampton are a very good team, they've got good players, they work very hard.

"I thought we were too passive in the first 20-25 minutes. We weren't running hard enough, getting to second balls and we weren't aggressive enough.

"(At) half-time we just reinforced it. Not every game of football in the Premier League is all about nice football. You've got to earn the right in the Premier League. This is a league where you've got to fight like hell in every game to get the result and in the second half we were much, much better at that.

"We were aggressive, created lots of opportunities and worked tirelessly in the game, so overall a very good win. Could have had more goals but delighted with three points," he concluded.

Chelsea snapped a three-game run without a win with a hard-fought 1-0 victory away to London rivals Fulham this past weekend.

"Of course it feels good to get a win, it has not been easy with the league form recently and you have to break the duck," Blues manager Frank Lampard said in the aftermath.

"I trust the quality of the players. There was a feeling we would get a goal because the pressure was constant. It was about staying patient with our passing and I think we did."

The two teams shared the spoils in both of their league fixtures last season. A 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge was followed by a 2-2 stalemate at King Power Stadium.
