Real Betis booked their semi-final berth by beating Espanyol 3-1 at home (4-2 on aggregate) in the previous round and ending a run of just one win from the previous eight matches in the process, before edging Atletico Madrid by the odd goal on Sunday courtesy of Sergio Canales’ second-half spot kick – the Spaniard’s 6th league goal of the current campaign.

Valencia are unbeaten in their last three matches in all competitions since their 1-0 first-leg Copa del Rey quarter-final defeat to Getafe last month, including the impressive 2-2 draw against Barcelona at the Nou Camp on Saturday despite letting a two-goal lead slip from their grasps.

Los Verdiblancos have suffered just one defeat in their last 12 matches at home in all competitions since October – a 2-1 loss to Real Madrid on their first return to the Benito Villamarin in 2019.

Los Che on the other hand have won just one of their last nine matches on the road in all competitions.

Valencia will go five games unbeaten against Real Betis if they manage to avoid defeat on Thursday.
The pair played out to a rather disappointing goalless stalemate in the reverse league fixture earlier in the season.

On Valencia’s last outing to Real Betis, fans were treated to a nine-goal thriller that Valencia race into 4-0 lead in the second half after leading 1-0 at half-time. Three goals in the space of five minutes for the hosts then breathed real life back into the encounter, only for Simone Zaza and Andreas Pereira to hammer two final nails into the coffin as the game ended 6-3 to the visitors.
