Brad Binder will be looking to continue eliminating mistakes from his riding as he heads into the Aragon Grand Prix, the latest leg of the 2020 MotoGP season, set for Sunday 18 October.

Binder, in his first campaign in the top-tier MotoGP class, has made a fine impression, including a memorable victory in the Czech Republic. However, his last four races have brought no top-10 finishes and seen him drop to 11th on the riders’ championship log.

This past weekend he struggled with the tricky Le Mans circuit at the French Grand Prix, though he put in a solid ride in wet conditions to come home in 12th place for his KTM team – though teammate Pol Esparago eclipsed him with a third-place finish.

"The main thing that I'm not happy with from my season so far is the amount of mistakes I've made," Binder explained. "I'm not a rider that normally makes too many mistakes, especially in the races. Normally I can up my game, but always keep it clean, whereas this season I've made a lot of mistakes; going off track, running wide, going through the gravel.”

He added, “I feel like I've missed a lot of opportunities to get a lot of really good points scoring positions and I could have been strong in races where I've thrown it away. That's, I think, my most difficult part about my MotoGP season so far. But the positive thing is the speed is there. If I didn't mess up in a lot of these races, the results would have been positive."

Aragon was a happy hunting ground for Binder in both 2018 and 2019, as the South African claimed victory in the Moto2 races at the Spanish venue in those seasons. If he can make it three in a row, then a major rise up the riders’ standings will be quick to follow.
